As an interaction designer and a digital artist, I believe design is the intersection between engineering and art. Much like physical spaces, architects of digital spaces should keep in mind considerations of intended use, accessibility, feasibility, best & worst case scenarios, and user attitude. Once an intuitive experience is in place, making it visually appealing is essentially what ties the whole thing together - and of course, the most entertaining part for me.
This approach to design is shaped by my own journey; from studying engineering to studying design, and from living in Cairo to living in Berlin. This journey exposed me to a variety of totally different cultures and setups, teaching me the value of empathy and authenticity. Empathy to listen more, and authenticity to be my true self. Those takeaways made me view digital platform as an opportunity to create new spaces for connection & interaction. Designing those spaces with empathy for the user's needs, wants, and emotions while staying authentic is therefore what I strive to do in every bit of the journey, with the heart of an artist, and the brain of an engineer.
